Cryogenic LN₂ Reciprocating Pump System

Overview
Designed and developed a high-pressure cryogenic reciprocating pump system, integrating a customer-specified hydraulic drive for operation in a hazardous environment. Design considerations included high-pressure loading, cryogenic temperature effects, sealing performance, and vibration monitoring for system reliability.

Role & Contributions

  • Designed and validated a new crankshaft to meet updated load and drive requirements

  • Integrated a hydraulic motor drive system to meet customer requirements for hazardous-area operation

  • Developed new intermediate housings with integrated vibration and temperature sensor provisions for system monitoring

  • Designed supporting mechanical components for hydraulic integration, including mounting, coupling, and interface hardware

  • Coordinated mechanical interface with a new cold-end cylinder designed by a separate team

  • Created detailed assembly drawings and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Supported factory acceptance testing (FAT) to verify system performance prior to shipment

Modeling, Simulating, Assembling, and Drawings done in Solidworks. All parametric, and configurable.
